June 13th, 2 p.m., at Congregation Sons of Israel (Briarcliff Manor) Congressman John Hall (19th Congressional District) will speak to our community on Sunday June 13th at 2 PM at Congregational Sons of Israel (Briarcliff Manor) on the topic, "The United States-Israel Relationship: View from the House." There are several very significant actions that both the United States and Israel will take over the next few months, not least of which are dealing with Iran's nuclear ambitions and continuing negotiations with the Palestinians. It is important for us to have a clear understanding of how the Congress approaches these issues.
Money for Jewish Summer Camp Program - There is a wonderful program for first time campers at jewish summer Camps offered by the Foundation for Jewish Camp. They give grants of $700 - $1500 for campers who have never attended more than 2 weeks of a Jewish sleepaway camp and you can apply online at Jewish Foundation Camp Scholarships. |

SPRING CLEANING AT CJC |

Spring is undoubtedly in the air and on the calendar. And what is spring without a good round of spring cleaning! CJC is certainly in need of some sprucing up, and we will begin by cleaning the kitchen and adjacent areas for Passover on consecutive Sunday mornings - March 28. Volunteers are welcome and needed, so please come to work out that spring cleaning urge, and to learn more about the laws and customs of Passover as well. See Read More for Details!

Hebrew School Penny Harvest |

And the race is on! The Hebrew School kids voted last week on where to donate the $108.23 in pennies they collected through the Penny Harvest! Currently we have a tie between the Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals (aka SPCA) and The American Red Cross Haiti/Chile Relief. We are waiting for two additional votes to come in to break the tie! |

An Evening of Comedy |

On Saturday, March 6, 2010, 5 synagogues are hosting an evening of comedy and laughter at the Yorktown Jewish Center.
The admission price is $25.00 per person, which includes an entire night of comedy, gala dessert buffet and a penny social with gift certificates.
