Shavuot, the holiday that celebrates the giving of Torah at Mt. Sinai, begins next Thursday evening, May 28.

In honor of Shavuot, our own Amy Melman has written a wonderful article about the Aseret Hadibrot (The Ten Utterances). Please click on the Read More link below to read it under Learning.

On Thursday, May 28th, Candle lighting will be at 8:00 pm. Services will begin at 8:00 as well.

Friday, May 29th, holiday services will begin at 9:30 a.m. and last until approximately noon.

That Friday evening, we will begin gathering at 7:00 p.m.  Services will begin at 7:30 p.m. There will be a presentation  honoring our religious school teachers and a siddur presentation  ceremony during which every child enrolled in our school will be presented with his or her own personal-sized Siddur Sim Shalom.

There will be a Shavuot dairy dinner at 8:15 p.m.  The cost for the dinner is $10.00 for adults and $5.00 for kids under 13.  As always, we welcome outside guests to any of our functions or services..  If you plan to attend the dinner, please RSVP to Rabbi Bockman by leaving a message at (914) 271-2218 or to his email at This e-mail address is being protected from spambots.
